"Terrain Analysis for your Antenna”
September 3rd, 2010 7:30 PM - Henrietta Fire Hall, 3129 E. Henrietta Rd.
You may be surprised to learn just how much the ground around your antenna influences the performance. Both transmit and receive! Things like the soil composition, topography, and moisture from right under your antenna out for miles will affect your signal. Ken Boasi, N2ZN, will be on hand to show you where you can get all the data and tools you need to make a complete assessment of your antenna location. The results will not only be fascinating, they will tell you exactly what beam heading and take-off angle is best for you to get your signal to any specified location on the globe.
"Amateur Television - it's not Slow Scan Anymore.”
October 1st, 2010 7:30 PM - Henrietta Fire Hall, 3129 E. Henrietta Rd.
Amateur Television today is full motion, full color, and truly amazing. Nothing like the old days of SSTV which was slower than watching paint dry. Fred Miller, WO2P, and Judy Stonehill, N2KXS, will come to demonstrate you you can operate ATV from your home "studio" / shack or mobile out in the field. They will also be demonstrating the brand new ATV repeater that your dues helped create and is available for your use! "It's Auction Time!”
November 5th, 2010 7:30 PM - Henrietta Fire Hall, 3129 E. Henrietta Rd.
It's time for the annual RaRa Auction. This is a members only event, so if your membership is not current be sure to renew or sign-up here. Our two beloved auctioneers Dick Goslee, KG2I, and Ed Gable, K2MP, will provide the evenings entertainment as they convince you to go home with things you never knew you needed. The doors will open at 6:30 to setup and pre-examine the items up for bid. The gavel drops at 7:30 sharp! September through May our meetings are held on the first Friday at Henrietta Fire Station No. 1, 3129 East Henrietta Road. Summer gatherings include our Rochester Hamfest, family picnic, and "cruise night"; our annual car show and tailgate party.
